Message the car will not achieve the quarter mile times that you might expect. Your mph will be unusually high compared to the et. I'm not saying that means that you should go out and sidestep the clutch at 5500rpm on slicks, but be aware that the launch is key.

Here is what you should think about:

It is a not-widely-publicized consequence that very fast manual tranny cars break a lot of parts, and that's not just a statement about 300ZX's. Last year I hauled a buddy home 3 times in an LS1 Camaro when he was trying to run big numbers in a 6-speed car. He ruined a Rockland-modified 6-speed and broke the rear axle 2 times. He now runs an automatic, as do I, in my Camaro, which I drag race.

Another friend broke an axle in his 5-speed Mustang a few weeks back, and it now looks like he ruined the pinion bearings from overloading.

5-speed drag racing breaks stuff! My advice: if you want to drag race, get another car with an auto and go beat everybody without breaking parts. You will be quicker and have more fun.
